Leagl Issues

Was ummm... politely asked by a guy in a blue uniform to desist my activiries this afternoon in the local park.

5 weight fly rod, 9 1/2 foot leader with 4X tippet, peanut attached via an improved clinch knot. Didn't work too well untill I throw a few handfuls of peanuts out for the squirrels to get used to first. After that it was a riot, especialy letting them get really close then pulling the peanut a foot or so way.... they would eventuall pounce on the thing and were not so willing to let it go.

Not as much fun as ratting in the NYC subway, but is was still a lot of fun. I think the best part was watching the other folks in the park. A couple peole commented something positive about fly fishing, untill the figured out what I was doing....

Something that has alwasys baffled me.... Fly fishing seems to be almost tolerated and even sometimes a bit admired by even some "protect the animals at l all costs (till my taxes increase) folks", just because we usually let the fish go with an emmence amout of care. Yet it seems that they have no clue that the flies for fly fishing are made out of - fur and feathers of animal who I think didn't surrender thier body coverings wilingly. Go figure... can never under-estamate the cognitive qualities of the politically crunchie.
